IOLANTHE
The Gilbert and Sullivan Society has a long and successful history of putting on large scale musicals with a full professional orchestra. They, quite literally, are the biggest shows around. This year we're presenting a very witty -- and beautiful -- show called "Iolanthe" (eye-oh-lan-thee).
"Iolanthe" opens a window onto the Victorian world with a satire on the House of Lords with its inherited wealth and privilege. Our scenic design is inspired by the Impressionist painters of the period and by the birth of modern dance.
